Hannah spoke to God without any pretense – her emotions lay exposed, her heart was undistracted, her mind was focused, and her spirit was connected to God’s. 1 Samuel 1:10-18 Reading this scripture brings to mind the following questions: When you speak to God do you come without any pretense? Are your emotions exposed? Your heart undistracted? Your mind focused? And your spirit connected to God? I am reminded of when I was still a fairly new Christian and of what I believe is the first real time that I came before Father God without pretense, emotions exposed, heart undistracted, mind focused and spirit connected to God. It was a time that I was overwhelmed with life. I had been praying through the house and was in one of my daughters bedrooms when I just "let go". I had always been told that we bring our best to God, approach Him with respect, etc. In this moment I knew I had to be honest with Him. After all, He already knew anyway.
